There are some individuals who have that pleasant smile because of the presence of a dimple in one or both cheeks. Normally, this is inherent in a person since birth. The face or cheeks are normally flat and smooth in a neutral position without smiling or laughing. The dimple appears when the person begins to smile or laugh and many people find it cute. This can be duplicated or created in a patient who has none but desire to have one in either or both cheeks.
